CALL FOR PAPERS AND POSTERS
The Inter-American Association of Librarians, Documentalists and 
Specialists in Agricultural
Information (AIBDA) is pleased to invite all professionals concerned 
with the management and
preservation of agricultural and environmental information to 
participate in our fifteenth
Conference (XV RIBDA) to be held at the National Library of Peru, 
Lima, October 27-29, 2009.
MAIN TOPICS
1) The movement towards Open Access information and what this promise 
for agricultural
innovation in North and South American countries. Examination of 
state-of-the-art
technologies and best practices in free diffusion of agricultural and 
environmental knowledge
in the Americas.
2) Leading advances and examples of the OA movement and their 
contributions to the free
transference and diffusion of knowledge in agricultural and related 
areas. Assessment of the
quality, quantity, and opportunities for improving the availability 
of agricultural and
environmental information in Inter-American countries.
3.) OA in relation to professional social networks, regional and 
local information systems.
Examination of the impacts of the OA movement in Latin America and 
North America under
public information policies, local information systems, tele-centers 
and types of
management.
4.) Practical use of indicators and evaluation techniques in the 
management of agricultural and
environmental information with reference to regional challenges in 
accessing agricultural and
environmental information

SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS FOR PAPERS AND POSTERS
All submissions must include a provisional title as well as an 
abstract (500-900 words) which
clearly identifies the content and succinctly states the main topic 
of the paper.
Papers and Posters can be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese or English.
The author(s) should provide details for personal contact and include 
a short curriculum vitae.
The deadline for the above is April 1st, 2009 for papers and May 1st, 
2009 for posters. Send to:

Notification of acceptance will occur in mid-April 2009 for papers 
and in mid-May 2009 for
posters
