La presidente dell'IFLA Ellen Tise ha spedito nei giorni scorsi un
saluto per il Congresso AIB, un elogio all'open access e al ruolo
delle biblioteche. Vi anticipo una frase, nella speranza che sia un
invito a partecipare tutti al Congresso (Firenze, 3-5 novembre),
alla cui organizzazione abbiamo dedicato molte energie.<br>

generation. Equal access to knowledge serves to ensure the
stability of

justify;">Il 19 ottobre ho tenuto un'ora di lezione agli studenti
di Biblioteconomia (246 iscritti) dedicata all'OA: molto interesse
e qualche domanda.<br>
Ho poi proseguito la lezione con la Lettura critica de "Le cinque
leggi della biblioteconomia" di Ranganathan, motivo del corso di
quest'anno, leggendo la sentenza "765 FUTURO. [a proposito della
quinta legge] Non siamo in grado di prevedere con certezza quali
ulteriori stadi
evolutivi il futuro riserva a questo ORGANISMO IN CRESCITA – la
biblioteca. Chi
può dire se, un giorno, la disseminazione della conoscenza, che è
la funzione
vitale delle biblioteche, non potrà avvenire persino attraverso
l’uso di altre
risorse, diverse dai libri stampati? Wells, almeno, ha descritto
un mondo in
cui la disseminazione della conoscenza si otterrà attraverso il
trasferimento
diretto del pensiero, senza la mediazione del linguaggio o della
carta
stampata".<br>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align:
justify;">Il Maestro indiano, sono certo, avrebbe supportato l'OA
da suo pari.<br>
