risolvere un problema, forse solo formale, che mi si e’ presentato durante
l’archiviazione di alcuni documenti sul repository istituzionale
dell’Universita’ di Camerino a cui sto lavorando. In questa prima fase
l’archiviazione riguarda le tesi di dottorato prodotte nell’Ateneo. In alcune di
esse gli autori, per illustrare il lavoro svolto durante gli anni del corso di
dottorato in ricerca, hanno inserito nel corpo della tesi gli articoli
pubblicati su riviste di editori internazionali che sono il frutto della ricerca
da loro svolta, riproducendoli integralmente attraverso la scannerizzazione del
testo pubblicato sulla rivista.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Mi e’ sorto quindi il dubbio se sia
possibile inserire queste tesi, con gli articoli pubblicati in esse contenute,
su un repository senza violare le norme sul copyright. La prima risposta che mi
sono data –considerato che non e’ possibile estrapolarle dal testo- e’ di
considerare gli articoli alla stregua di post-prints, ed inserirli se le riviste
che li contengono sono di editori che consentano questa prassi. Da una ricerca
condotta su SHERPA ROMEO, pero’, ed anche alla luce di una recente discussione
su questa lista, mi sono resa conto che questa interpretazione non e’
corretta.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

ROMEO, infatti, in terms of content, post-prints are the article as published.
However, in terms of appearance this might not be the same as the published
article, as publishers often reserve for themselves their own arrangement of
type-setting and formatting. Typically, this means that the author cannot use
the publisher-generated .pdf file, but must make their own .pdf version for
submission to a repository.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

insist that authors use the publisher-generated .pdf - seemingly because the
publishers want their material to be seen as a professionally produced .pdf that

style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Infatti Elsevier (blue publisher)
permette l’archiviazione di post-print, ma li definisce: final draft
post-refereeing e specifica: publishers version/PDF cannot be used, mentre
Springer (green publisher) permette l’archiviazione di post-print intesi come
Authors final own version, con la condizione che il gestore del repository sets
phrase to accompany link to published version.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
