  You may know that there is a major meeting in Brussels next month on scholarly communication.
  The publishers are lobbying hard to make e-access even more restrictive.
  A major petition of individual researchers and research institutions and universities has been set up today 
  to demonstrate the importance scholars attach to freely accessible information.
  You will see that it is sponsored by a number of major European research agencies 
  I hope you may feel able to sign it, and to post the link to any relevant boards or mailing lists.
